The word detox is gaining more popularity since health became a fad. I'm usually hesitant to follow anything that main stream media supports because there is usually always a motive. Detox is no different. Detoxing is the process your body goes through to rid itself of toxins. These toxins come from the air we breath, water we drink and even the food we eat. Smart money makers have caught on to the benefits of detoxing and are using it for their gain, by creating different detox drinks, shakes and programs. In reality most of these shakes include toxic ingredients; so instead of being a real detox they are actually adding to your toxic load. A detox is simple. Stop ingesting toxins and start ingesting foods, herbs and beverages that will assist your body in ridding itself of toxins while nourishing you at the same time. These 10 foods are some of the most powerful detoxifying foods you can get. They're all straight from Mother Earth and can be found in your local produce section.
1. Lemon
Lemons and limes are high in easily absorb-able vitamin C. The roots of their trees go deep into the ground which makes them hosts for a plethora of minerals and salts the body needs. Lemon is one of the most effective mucous expellers you can find, when you are dealing with a cold, flu, bronchitis or pneumonia.
